Ron Layport spent forty years in the advertising business in Pittsburg while receiving numerous national and international awards for his design, writing and production work. In 2008 he was inducted into the Pittsburgh Advertising Federation Hall of Fame.
Ron began turning wooden vessels in 1992 and has exhibited with del Mano Gallery in Los Angeles for the past decade. His unusual pieces can be found in numerous exhibitions, publications and collections, both private and public.
He also has permanent collections at a number of well known museums, including The Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, and the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, DC.
